Scheduling Recurring Maintenance
Preventive maintenance helps avoid costly emergency repairs. Set up recurring tasks to stay on top of regular upkeep.
Creating a Recurring Task
- Go to Maintenance > Recurring.
- Click Add Recurring Task.
- Configure the task:
- Title — e.g. "Annual Boiler Service".
- Description — Details of what needs to be done.
- Property / Unit — Which property this applies to.
- Frequency — Monthly, quarterly, biannually, or annually.
- Start Date — When the first task should be generated.
- Contractor — Optionally pre-assign a contractor.
- Click Save.
How It Works
Latch automatically creates a new maintenance ticket on each scheduled date. The ticket includes all the details you configured and is pre-assigned to the specified contractor if set.
Common Recurring Tasks
- Annual boiler service — Required for gas safety compliance.
- Gutter cleaning — Biannual, typically spring and autumn.
- Smoke and CO alarm testing — Annual.
- Garden maintenance — Monthly during growing season.
- Legionella checks — Annual water safety assessment.
Managing Recurring Tasks
From the Recurring tab you can edit, pause, or cancel any recurring task. Pausing preserves the schedule but stops generating new tickets until resumed.
Tip: Link recurring maintenance tasks to compliance certificates so your gas safety certificate renewal is automatically prompted each year.
