Managing Certificate Renewals
Staying on top of certificate renewals is critical — a lapsed certificate can result in fines and put tenants at risk.
Renewal Reminders
Latch automatically sends reminders as certificates approach their expiry date:
- 60 days before — Email reminder to start arranging renewal.
- 30 days before — In-app notification and email.
- 7 days before — Urgent alert on your dashboard.
- On expiry — Dashboard warning with red status.
Compliance Dashboard
From any property detail page, the Compliance section shows:
- A traffic-light summary of all certificates.
- Green — Valid and not expiring within 60 days.
- Amber — Expiring within 60 days.
- Red — Expired or missing.
Renewing a Certificate
- Arrange the inspection or assessment with a qualified professional.
- After the work is done, go to the property's Compliance section.
- Click Update Certificate next to the expiring item.
- Enter the new issue date and expiry date.
- Upload the new certificate document.
- Click Save.
Portfolio Compliance View
Go to Reports > Compliance to see a summary across all properties, making it easy to spot which properties need attention.
Tip: Book annual gas safety checks for the same month each year across all properties — this creates a predictable renewal schedule.
