Viewing Lease History
Latch keeps a complete record of all leases for each property, including expired ones.
Accessing Lease History
- Go to the property detail page.
- Click the Leases tab.
- All leases are listed with their status (Active, Expired, Periodic).
Viewing an Expired Lease
Click on any expired lease to see:
- The original lease terms (dates, rent, frequency).
- All payment periods and their statuses.
- Payments recorded against the lease.
- Tenants who were linked to the lease.
Lease Timeline
The leases tab shows a visual timeline of all leases for the property, making it easy to see:
- How long each tenancy lasted.
- Any gaps between tenancies (void periods).
- How rent has changed over time.
Using Lease History for Reports
When generating reports, you can include data from both active and expired leases. This is useful for:
- Year-end tax returns covering multiple tenancy periods.
- Analysing rental yield trends over time.
Tip: Never delete old leases — they contain important financial records you may need for tax or legal purposes.
