AI Photo Analysis
Latch uses AI to analyse photos you upload during inventory creation, automatically identifying items and their condition.
How It Works
- Upload a photo of a room or specific item.
- The AI analyses the image and identifies:
- Items visible — Furniture, appliances, fixtures.
- Condition assessment — General condition based on visual analysis.
- Notable issues — Stains, damage, wear, marks.
- Review the AI suggestions and adjust as needed.
Using AI Analysis
When adding photos to an inventory report:
- Upload the photo.
- Click Analyse with AI.
- The AI returns suggested items with conditions.
- Click Add Suggested Items to populate the inventory.
- Review and edit each item's condition and notes.
What the AI Can Identify
- Furniture — Sofas, beds, tables, chairs, wardrobes.
- Appliances — Ovens, fridges, washing machines, dishwashers.
- Fixtures — Light fittings, radiators, curtain rails.
- Condition Issues — Stains on carpets, marks on walls, damage to surfaces.
Accuracy
AI analysis is a starting point — always review and verify the suggestions. The AI may miss items or misjudge conditions, especially in poorly lit photos.
Tips for Better Results
- Take photos in good lighting.
- Capture the whole room plus close-ups of specific items.
- Include multiple angles for large rooms.
Tip: Use AI analysis as a first pass, then walk through the property to verify every item — this combines speed with thoroughness.
