AI Document Analysis

Latch uses AI to analyse your documents, extracting key information and providing useful summaries.

How It Works

When you upload a document, the AI automatically:

1. Reads the document content (text extraction and OCR for images).
2. Identifies the document type (lease, certificate, invoice, etc.).
3. Extracts key data points relevant to the document type.
4. Generates a summary of the document's main points.

What Gets Extracted

Depending on the document type:

• Leases — Start date, end date, rent amount, tenant names, break clauses.
• Certificates — Certificate type, issue date, expiry date, engineer details.
• Invoices — Amount, date, supplier, description of work.
• Insurance — Provider, policy number, cover type, premium, renewal date.

Viewing AI Analysis

1. Open a document from the Documents library.
2. The AI Analysis panel shows the extracted information and summary.
3. Review the data and click Save to Property to apply extracted details.

Accuracy

AI extraction is not perfect. Always review the extracted data before saving it to your property records. You can edit any field the AI has populated.

Tip: Upload compliance certificates and let the AI extract expiry dates — this automatically updates your compliance tracking without manual data entry.
