Deleting Your Account
If you no longer need your Latch account, you can permanently delete it. This action is irreversible.
Before Deleting
We strongly recommend:
- Export your data — Go to Settings > Export Data and download all your records (properties, payments, expenses, documents).
- Cancel any subscriptions — Ensure billing is up to date.
- Remove team members — Notify team members that the account will be deleted.
How to Delete
- Go to Settings > Account.
- Scroll to the Danger Zone section.
- Click Delete Account.
- Read the warning about what will be permanently removed.
- Type DELETE to confirm.
- Enter your password.
- Click Permanently Delete Account.
What Gets Deleted
- All properties, leases, payments, and expenses.
- All documents and files.
- All contacts and maintenance tickets.
- All reports and settings.
- Your profile and login credentials.
What Is Preserved
- Tenant Portal accounts — Tenants who had portal access retain their own Latch accounts but lose access to your property data.
- Emails sent — Previously sent emails remain in recipients' inboxes.
Cooling-Off Period
After deletion, your account enters a 30-day cooling-off period. During this time, you can contact support to restore your account. After 30 days, all data is permanently purged.
Tip: Always export your data before deleting — you may need historical records for tax, legal, or reference purposes even after you stop managing properties.
