Importing Existing Data
If you are switching from another system, Latch can help you migrate your existing data.
Import Options
Manual Entry
For smaller portfolios (1–5 properties), the fastest approach is to add each property, tenant, and lease manually through the app.
CSV Import
For larger portfolios, you can import data via CSV files:
- Go to Settings > Import Data.
- Download the CSV template for the data type you want to import (properties, contacts, payments, etc.).
- Fill in the template with your data.
- Upload the completed CSV file.
- Review the import preview and confirm.
Concierge Migration
Our onboarding team offers free concierge migration assistance for portfolios with 10 or more properties. We assist with:
- Property and unit setup.
- Tenant and contact import.
- Lease creation with correct payment schedules.
- Historical payment and expense records.
To request a concierge migration, contact us via the Contact Support page.
Data Formats
- Dates: Use DD/MM/YYYY or YYYY-MM-DD format.
- Currency: Include amounts without currency symbols (e.g. 1200.00).
- Addresses: Use the full address including postcode.
Tip: Always review imported data carefully. You can edit any record after import if corrections are needed.
